ALHAMDULILLAH
I am quite excited to go for the hospital rounds today as tomorrow's holiday š but something happened.
And no, I’m not injured physically but mentally.

So, here's the story..
We started out morning rounds as usual with Dr.M, discussing from case to case till we came across an 8 month old baby with her mother. His mother complained of her child's condition. Dr.M started asking us questions about "tadamma'" in the baby's eyes. Bear in my mind, the doctor was talking fully in arabic with some english medical terms...so i got lost in the middle of the discussion
So, i asked him, syu ma'na tadamma' (what is the meaning of tadamma')
"You don't know the meaning of tadamma'? How long have you been here? Its almost 6 years and you still don't know these simple words?". Suddenly the doctor speak in Arabic kind of English.
I am so embarrased so I just kept quiet and smiled sheepishly. I said to myself "Okay i'm not gonna ask any more question. Just bear for another one hour Wahida, you shouldn't ask that questions but I couldn't help myself because its the first time I heard the Arabic word"
Then i asked another question and I was scolded again for the same reason, its my fault because I was distracted by the cute babies when the doctor did the talking ..sorry doctor.. (Again) Its like you just get tired after translating the Arabic words in your head to English then to Malay for you to grasp the information given.. Mind you susah taww
But ALL IZ WELL (Said them Three Idiots), and the doctor asked for my name and signed the attendance paper and we're done..yeay
After that, I went to the bookshop to buy some stationeries and coloured papers, I conversed with the owner in Arabic and he praised for my Arabic language while actually, it was just a simple sentence ..haha.. but anyway,
The owner just came back from US and i told him the tadamma' story and he smiled. He said that to him,
"There's no such thing as stupid questions. No one knows everything. He's a Jordanian and he didn't know ALL arabic words. We ask questions coz we don't know or haven't heard of it. It doesn't mean that we're stupid"
Pakcikkkk u made my day Yes. There's no such things as stupid questions. Ask more questions. Learn. And never give up
So, what is the meaning of tadamma'?
